APTANJ Integrative Physical Therapy SIG

Welcome to the new APTANJ Integrative Physical Therapy Special Interest Group (IPTSIG)!

ABOUT US

The membership of this Integrative Physical Therapy Special Interest Group aims to advance the understanding and implementation of evidence-based integrative health and medicine practices among clinicians throughout New Jersey. By creating a specialized network through collaboration with the greater medical community, we aim to provide an integration of Complementary and Integrative health practices and provide opportunities for our colleagues and our patients to benefit from whole-person care through this specialized area of physical therapy practice.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Integrative Physical Therapy Special Interest Group (IPTSIG) members are in collaboration to facilitate learning and development in delivering Integrative Physical Therapy by leveraging a variety of methodologies, including Yoga, Mindfulness, Tai Chi, Hydrotherapy, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Zero balancing, Reiki , Nutrition and Energy medicine to name a few . To fully embrace Integrative Physical Therapy (IPT), a fundamental transformation in care delivery is essential, blending traditional physical therapy methods with holistic practices that address the whole person—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The IPTSIG will empower new Jersey Physical Therapists by providing resources for accessible, reliable education, and mentorship opportunities that build solid foundations for evidence-based clinical practice. We also aim to serve as a platform for sharing expertise, fostering a statewide discourse on integrative practices, and enhancing patient care through holistic approaches.
