Advocating for the Future of Physical Therapy in NJ

PT Plan serves as the unified voice of New Jersey's physical therapy community in the political and legislative process. As the official Political Action Committee (PAC) of the American Physical Therapy Association of New Jersey, PT Plan is dedicated to advancing the profession through strategic advocacy, relationship-building, and support of policymakers who understand the value of physical therapy and patient-centered care.

The healthcare landscape is constantly evolving, and decisions made in Trenton and Washington, D.C. have a direct impact on physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, students, employers, and the patients who rely on our services. PT Plan helps ensure that the profession has a seat at the table when important policy decisions are being made. Through responsible political engagement, PT Plan supports legislative efforts that promote patient access to care, protect professional autonomy, advance fair reimbursement policies, and strengthen the role of physical therapy within New Jersey's healthcare system.

Contributions to PT Plan enable APTANJ to build and maintain meaningful relationships with elected officials and candidates who are committed to improving healthcare outcomes and supporting the physical therapy profession. These efforts help educate policymakers about the critical role physical therapists play in preventing injury, managing chronic conditions, reducing healthcare costs, and improving quality of life for patients across the state.

PT Plan is more than a fundraising vehicle — it is an investment in the future of physical therapy. Every contribution helps amplify the collective voice of the profession and supports advocacy initiatives that protect the interests of practitioners and the communities they serve. By participating in PT Plan, members and non-members alike become active partners in shaping legislation and public policy that impacts the practice of physical therapy today and for generations to come.

Support PT Plan Through the APTANJ Golf Classic

One of the most important ways members and supporters contribute to PT Plan is through the annual APTANJ Golf Classic, the association's signature fundraising event benefiting the PAC. The Golf Classic brings together physical therapy professionals, industry partners, healthcare leaders, and advocates for a day of networking, camaraderie, and support for the profession's advocacy efforts.

As participation and interest continue to grow, APTANJ is expanding the event to create meaningful opportunities for everyone to get involved—not just golfers. New activities, networking experiences, sponsorship opportunities, and social components are being developed to ensure that members, supporters, and guests can participate in ways that match their interests and comfort levels. Whether you are an avid golfer, a first-time participant, or simply passionate about supporting the future of physical therapy in New Jersey, there will be opportunities for you to contribute to the success of PT Plan.

Your participation in the APTANJ Golf Classic helps strengthen the profession's voice in the legislative arena and supports ongoing advocacy efforts that benefit physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and the patients they serve throughout New Jersey.

Together, we can advance policies that strengthen the profession, expand access to high-quality physical therapy services, and ensure that patients throughout New Jersey receive the care they need to live healthier, more active lives.
